Desulfurizer for steelmaking

Desulfurizer is a new slag system suitable for refining and desulfurization outside the furnace. The use of this product does not require additional investment in equipment, and adopts desulfurization inside the ladle outside the furnace during the steelmaking process. It can be widely used for short process steelmaking processes such as pre furnace smelting, rapid steelmaking, and external refining. The desulfurization rate can reach 30-80% under different smelting conditions, and the refining process has a good submerged arc effect, reducing noise pollution, electrode consumption, and improving thermal efficiency. It has a significant effect on improving heating rate, shortening refining time, and reducing steelmaking costs. Especially when the sulfur content in molten iron is significantly increased, it is an effective means to remove the S content in steel.

Desulfurization of molten iron outside the furnace refers to a pre-treatment process in which molten iron undergoes desulfurization treatment outside the furnace before entering the steelmaking furnace, in order to reduce the sulfur content of pig iron, improve the quality of steel, and improve the comprehensive technical and economic indicators of the steel plant. The desulfurization of molten iron outside the furnace was initially only used as a means of treating high sulfur molten iron. In recent years, on the one hand, the requirements for the sulfur content of steel have become increasingly strict, and on the other hand, it is required to appropriately relax the sulfur content of molten iron produced by blast furnaces in order to increase blast furnace output, reduce coke ratio, and thus reduce the overall cost of steel. Therefore, the desulfurization process outside the furnace has developed rapidly. Commonly used desulfurizers include lime, calcium carbide, soda ash, magnesium powder, etc.

Before tapping the composite desulfurizer, put this product into the ladle and then tap the steel. Due to the steel flow flowing into the ladle from a high place, intense stirring occurs between the steel and slag, causing the slag to be emulsified by the steel liquid and then undergo non aggregation and floating. Due to its strong reducibility, synthetic slag itself has strong deoxygenation ability. With the coordination of (Fe Si Mn), it can effectively remove oxygen from steel, and this slag can also effectively adsorb solid deoxygenation products and float together. In addition, due to the alkaline nature of the synthetic slag and the ability of the deoxidizer to desulfurization, the diffusion deoxidation in the furnace can be completed within a few minutes, which takes several minutes to complete, thus achieving the goal of rapid deoxidation and desulfurization.
